Environment hazard
Estimated reading time: 2-3 minutes
Environment hazard is a setting on the K900 that allows you to adjust the robot's behaviour in dangerous situations based on the operating environment.
Environment hazard is configured per room, as each room may differ in terms of drops, staircases, moving objects, etc. Keeping the settings separate for each room ensures optimal safety and performance.
Be aware: The WebApp settings may vary depending on the software version you are using. The screenshots below are from software version 2025.01. Click here to learn how to check your K900’s software version and update it to the latest version.
To access the environment hazard configuration:
- Connect to the robot and open the WebApp. Click here to learn how to connect to the robot.
- Tap the menu icon in the top-left corner.
- Enable Advanced Mode in the bottom-left corner.
- Select Rooms, then choose the room you want to configure.
- Go to the Configuration section and choose the Environment Hazard level. Don't forget to save your changes.
Which environment hazard level to choose?
Environment hazard level | Environment specification | Robot behaviour |
Level 0 | No hazard. No moving objects, drops, or stairs. | All safety features are disabled. |
Level 1 (default) | Critical zones. Moving objects (e.g. AGVs) are present, but no drops or stairs. Important: Use red zones (LINK) to secure critical areas. | The robot stops and tries to rescue itself (drives back) until the problem is solved. |
Level 2 | Risk of falling. Drops or staircases are present. | The robot stops, it aborts the cleaning and waits for interaction from the user. |
Warning: For safety reasons, all drops higher than 2 meters, access to public areas, or other critical zones must be physically secured.
