Dirt bin full: Set the maximum cleaning time

Estimated reading time: 2-3 minutes

Since the robot does not include a sensor to measure the dirt bin fill level, the maximum cleaning time feature ensures that the robot - after a user-defined time - returns to the charging station and notifies the user with an Interaction required status.

If you want to monitor when the dirt bin is full and receive a notification, you can set the maximum cleaning time in the KEMARO WebApp.

How long does it take for the dirt bin to fill up?

The maximum cleaning time is optional - you may simply empty the dirt bin each time the robot finishes its mission and returns to the charging station. The 35L capacity of the dirt bin is sufficient for most environments.

However, as environments vary significantly, we recommend that you observe how long it takes for the dirt bin to fill up in your specific case. Set the maximum cleaning time based on your observation.

How do I set the maximum cleaning time?

  1. Connect to the robot and open the WebApp.
  2. Select Configuration > Cleaning Settings.

  3. Scroll down to the Maximum cleaning time configuration.

  4. Choose your preferred time and click Save. Only the cleaning time of the robot is taken into consideration in the counter.

  5. When the maximum cleaning time is reached and the dirt bin is assumed to be full, you will see an Interaction required notification in the Information logs on the WebApp’s main dashboard.

The robot will return to the charging station and wait until you confirm the interaction (either in the WebApp or by pressing the dirt bin button on the control panel).

We also recommend performing other regular maintenance activities. Click here to learn what you can do to enable your K900´s best performance.
